CASA WÁJARO

Your Donation Will

Remodeling costs that remain, including the re-purposing of a large space for a large conference/class roomspace and extra bathroom

WAYUU COMMUNITY

The Wayuu communities have been companions and friends for years. Currently, the Wájaro Foundation works together with them on different projects related to education, sustainable development and organizational strengthening.

NEEDS

1.Donate a 1 year scholarship for 1 Wayuu pastor in training at 3-year seminary: Donate total costs for one student for all of 2024! (only 19 students currently still need funding!)

2.Donate a 1 year scholarship for 1 Wayuu leader to study and receive their High School diploma in 2024

3.Donate a 1 year scholarship for 1 Wayuu leader to study and receive their technical certificate in social work or as a nurses assistant

4.Donation of notebooks, pens and supplies for students of educational projects in Wayuu communities.

EMBERÁ COMMUNITY

The Emberá community is a friendly community that this year suffered two types of displacement when armed groups removed them from their lands and later when they were removed from the place where they had arrived because of their Christian faith.

NEEDS

5. Donate a 1-year scholarship so that 1 Embera leader can study and learn to read and write in 2024.

NASA COMMUNITY

Our friends from the Nasa de Toribio indigenous community, Cauca, are working to strengthen their agricultural cooperative. They are working on finishing the construction of a laying hen (egg) shed.

NEEDS

6. Financial cooperation program for the Nasa cooperative in Toribio, Cauca.

MISAK COMMUNITY

Our friends from the Misak community develop different sustainable economy projects. Worker organized in a community cooperative, a cooperative of weavers and youth.

NEEDS

7. Misak House Remodeling: 1. Roof. 2. Floors and bathroom. 3. Windows

WIWA COMMUNITY

Our friends from the Wiwa indigenous community have begun a first stage of literacy in their native Damana language. We are in the creation of the booklet and training the facilitators.

NEEDS

8. Donate a 1-year scholarship for 1 Wiwa leader to learn to read and write in their Damana language.

WÁJARO TEAM

While The Wájaro Foundation seeks to become increasingly self-sustainable, we do rely on generous donors in order to continue to operate, travel and function as a legal entity in Colombia.

NEEDS

9. Help with funding Wájaro’s general budget that allows us to keep traveling and operating in 2024!
