The word “Wájaro”, which comes from the language spoken by the Amazonian tribal group known as the Eduria, means “let’s go together” and captures in large-part what the Wájaro Foundation seeks to do—to walk alongside groups of people engaged in peace and justice work in difficult regions throughout Colombia.
The Wájaro Foundation is actively seeking partnerships that are mutually beneficial. While financial partnerships are crucial to our work, Wájaro wants our partners to know that there is an open invitation to come and experience what we are doing in the field. We believe that periodic visits are a vehicle for experiential learning, relational engagement and critical reflection, and ultimately, contribute to the formation of those who visit.
Periodically Wájaro will send out updates about our work and needs. If you would like to be included in our support network, please sign up.
While this option is not currently in full effect, our intention, whenever possible, is to create service opportunities for individuals to engage in tangible acts of solidarity and support the work of Wájaro in the field. When these service opportunities arise, Wájaro will make them public here. Though no service opportunities currently exist, if you are an individual interested in working with Wájaro please let us know.
Please contact Wájaro with your questions, comments or ideas. We will get back to you as soon as we can!
